ROOF Today

ROOF has nearly eight years of organizational experience working with individuals with disabilities and five years developing and operating supported living homes for persons with developmental and/or intellectual disabilities. ROOF operates six supported living homes that are located in Collier (3), Lee (2), and Charlotte (1) Counties. The homes are either new construction or rehabilitation where the bedroom/bathroom suites are leased separately to an adult resident, age 18 or older, who has been determined eligible for services by the Agency for Persons with Disabilities (APD).

ROOF fundraises and writes grants so that the agency can provide rental assistance and case management for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities who reside at its supported living homes.  Specifically, the rental assistance that ROOF provides to its residents bridges the gap between what they can afford to pay (at 30% of their gross income) and the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) Fair Market Rent.
