Residential Options of Florida Awarded $2,500 Grant for Housing Network Project in Collier County

(March 21, 2017- Naples, FL)  Residential Options of Florida (ROOF), a statewide  501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to providing housing resources for people with developmental disabilities has received a $2,500 grant from the Community Foundation of Collier County to help fund the development of a Collier County Housing Network.

The grant will support ROOF’s mission in Collier County through the development of a housing network dedicated to provide information to Collier residents with developmental disabilities and their families on local affordable housing options. The grant period lasts from February 1, 2017 to November 1, 2017.

“Residential Options of Florida is grateful for the Community Foundation’s support,” states Sheryl Soukup, CFRE, Executive Director of ROOF. “Collier County is home to approximately 2,175 residents with developmental disabilities. This project will help people with disabilities and their family members understand local affordable housing options and plan for the future.”

ROOF’s Collier County Housing Network is part of the development of local networks throughout Florida to support people with developmental disabilities to obtain and maintain affordable and inclusionary housing of their choice.
