Learn More About the Chairs of the Collier Board of Trustees

Unique to Florida, Residential Options of Florida (ROOF) provides services to a large geographic population. Because of this, it is crucial for ROOF to have Boards of Trustees in each of the counties where we have ROOF homes. A rather untraditional model of governance for a nonprofit to follow, is now proving to be a key component to the growth ROOF. The Collier Board of Trustees ensures the functionality of ROOF Collier County, so that the State Board of Directors can focus their energy on the growth and expansion of ROOF.

We are pleased to announce the appointment of Jesse Larsen as the Chair of the Collier Board of Trustees. Jesse’s determination and tenacity towards the mission of ROOF is what made his fellow board members elect him to this leadership position. Jesse holds an MBA in finance from Florida Gulf Coast University with 12 years of experience in the banking industry. He serves as Vice President, Business Banking Credit Manager at Florida Community Bank in Naples. Jesse was elected to the Collier County Board of Trustees in 2018. A major goal that Jesse has for the organization is to develop the relationships with community members to advance the mission of ROOF in Collier County.

We are also pleased to announce that Dennis Slabaugh was elected as the Collier County Board of Trustees Vice Chair. Dennis is an insurance and risk management professional in Naples for the past 38 years, is a former risk manager for the NCH Healthcare System, independent risk consultant, and currently is the senior risk advisor and co-owner of Concierge Insurance Partners, LLC. Outside of the numerous business professional and civic organizations he is involved with, he was a founding member of the East Naples Kiwanis Club and serves as a 20th Judicial Circuit Court small claims mediation volunteer the past 11 years. After being invited to join the Board, he was drawn to the opportunity to serve based upon his personal experience with Muscular Dystrophy and is looking forward to contributing to the direction and success of their mission.

With the appointment of these prominent leaders to the Collier County Board, we are now one step closer to achieving our overall vision that every community in Florida will have an abundance of housing choices that meet the needs of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. These individuals are motivated and determined to ensure the proper functionality of ROOF Collier County. We are extremely grateful for their service to ROOF.

Thank you Jesse and Dennis.
