ROOF Resident Spotlight – JEFF

This month the ROOF Resident Spotlight is on Jeff, who has lived in the ROOF Lakeshore home for a year and a half.

A native Floridian, Jeff, was born in Rockledge near Cape Canaveral on Florida’s east coast. Jeff’s interests vary greatly. He loves trains – model trains and real trains – and has a fond memory of a family vacation when they took a train ride from Tennessee to Kentucky. Jeff even enjoys learning about trains by watching YouTube videos.

Jeff also loves to do quilting by both hand and machine. He was taught to hand quilt by an aunt when he was a teenager. He still loves to quilt and is happy to have a nice big bed in his room at the ROOF home so that he can use one of his big quilts every day. But that’s not all – Jeff also loves to fish! He likes to fish from the shoreline for Snook and Redfish.

Jeff will be spending the Christmas holiday with his sister and her two children. Last year they had a feast, enjoying ham, prime rib, and blueberry pie so Jeff is excited to see what delights she will prepare for everyone this year. Jeff and the other ROOF Lakeshore residents will also celebrate the holidays with a ROOF-family dinner.

Jeff has already begun thinking about his New Year’s Resolutions. In preparation for his 50th birthday in January, he is limiting his intake of holiday cookies – just baked by live-in caregiver Lori Lucas – exercising more, and eating healthier! Happy holidays from Jeff and the rest of the ROOF family!
