Disability-related full-day conference with a terrific keynote, Tom D’Eri, from Rising Tide Car Wash in Parkland, FL. Tom will share his family’s journey to successful social-business plan that arose from difficulty in his brother finding employment. Andrew has Autism. The Rising Tide U offers assistance with developing business plans related to individuals with disabilities.
Along with this great keynote, the conference offers three subsequent breakout sessions, along four different “tracks”-Prek/Elementary, Teen/Transition, Adults/Aging and (new this year) Self-Advocacy. Topics include such things as: Inclusive Preschool experience, Transportation options with JTA, mental health issues with the IDD population, Employment interviewing tips, Getting ready for the Special Education program/IEP process, Employment options for adults, and much more.
The Conference itself is free. There is a charge for lunch (Publix Subs/Salad box lunch). You are welcome to bring your own lunch as well.
Certificates of completion will be available after each session.
